AddressCoordinator Regulatory Services
Mackay Regional Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Coordinator Regulatory Services. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance with Local Laws and related legislation, providing expert guidance in management of operational policies, procedures and processes, and managing a multidisciplinary team to enhance service quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all staff within Regulatory Services.
- Develop and manage the budget allocated to Regulatory Services.
- Provide input into strategic and operational processes.
- Create a safe and healthy workplace culture.
- Develop and manage operational policies, procedures, and processes.
- Offer expert technical advice on local laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement initiatives to increase compliance and awareness.
- Monitor and review service quality and standards.
- Represent Council and act as a witness in legal proceedings.
- Perform other delegated responsibilities.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualifications in a relevant field such as Local Laws, Public Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within a local government or regulatory authority.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in project management and process improvement is desirable.
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary of $118,403 - $133,789 plus applicable allowances. (level offered will be dependent on successful candidates’ qualification and experience)
