The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the innovative Communicare Safe At Home program.

The Coordinator – Safe at Home (SAH) Perpetrator Response will work across multiple sites within the Metro region, with a base office in the Perth Central Business District (CBD) office. The Coordinator will be responsible for leading a team of program facilitators who will deliver behaviour change intervention to men who choose to use violence within their intimate relationships. The program aims to support individuals in increase their understanding of Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) and its impacts, developing respectful relationships and gain an understanding of unhelpful behaviours that impact relationships. In addition, the coordinator will engage directly with stakeholders and funding mangers to ensure efficient service reporting as well as delivery of the program. 

This position will be located in Perth CBD and is offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis, working 76 hours per fortnight.

Service Delivery:

  • Promote a culturally inclusive service environment for the program.
  • Oversee processes related to referrals, assessments, and group facilitation of metropolitan groups.
  • Oversee timely and accurate data collection, participation records and report submission.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing a team of staff working within the field of Family and Domestic Violence
  • Build ongoing stakeholder relationships with Department of Communities and Safe at Home providers
  • Providing high level leadership to the team, inclusive of performance development
  • Line manage relevant staff and student placements (where needed), including monitoring performance and supporting staff with learning and development.
  • Ensure a team culture which enables high team performance.
  • Ensure practice supervision of all SAH staff, including one to one supervision and overseeing the organisation of clinical supervision.

Selection Criteria 

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or another related field. 
  • Experience in managing and leading high performing teams
  • High level communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
  • Experience in building and maintaining engagement of multiple stakeholders in a service or project.
  • Experience in the service delivery of supporting men and women who choose to use violence and/or abuse through behaviour change.
  • Experience in service delivery of providing support to victim survivors, young people, and children
  • Strong expert awareness of child protection, family and domestic violence, trauma-informed approaches, and cultural inclusion
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
  • Current working with children checks card
