The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the innovative Communicare Safe At Home (SAH) program.
TheSafe at Home (SAH) Perpetrator Response Program Facilitator will engage and work with men who choose to use violence and/or abuse within their intimate relationships. The program aims to support individuals in developing respectful relationships and gain an understanding of unhelpful behaviours that impact relationships. This role prioritises the safety for women, children and other family members by providing specialist safety planning, risk management, individual counselling and case management..
To be successful in this role you must be willing to work with men who choose to use abusive behaviours, have knowledge of behaviour change process, have a person-centred approach and be able to effectively maintain working relationships with a range of service providers.
This position will be located in the Perth CBD office, offered on aPermanent Full-Time basis, working 76 hours per fortnight.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will possess:
- 3-year tertiary qualification in the human services field, and or significant experience in the family and domestic violence.
- Ability to develop rapport, be non-judgemental and provide a high level of risk assessment, safety planning, and individual, case management and informal counselling to clients.
- Skills in liaising at all levels with other service providers.
- Ability to apply current knowledge of developmental and psychosocial issues to assess clients and refer to other service providers.
- Skills in managing crisis and emotional distress
- Experience in deliver Family and Domestic Violence Men’s Behaviour Change Programs.
- Experience working in Family and Domestic Violence.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Selection Criteria:
- 3-year tertiary qualification in the human services field, and or significant experience in the family and domestic violence.
- Unrestricted drivers’ licence
- Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
- Current working with children check card
