As an Editor and Writer at Tourism Media, you will play a pivotal role in creating, reviewing and revising content written for multiple clients within the travel, agriculture, fashion and real estate space.
Your goal is to ensure that the content is high quality and that it meets our clients’ briefs, style guidelines and intended audience's needs. As a Copy Editor and Writer, you’ll be writing and editing compelling copy that is tailored to optimise search engine enquiries.

You’ll uphold each brand’s distinctive tone of voice and ensure messaging resonates with the domestic and international target audience.

You’ll be helping our project managers with various tasks, including crafting client mockups and setting up projects using work management software.
This position primarily entails on-site work, with occasional opportunities for remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Writing: Produce high-quality written content for clients across various industries.
  • Setting up projects: Play a key role in the creation of projects, including writing client mockups, creating and overseeing workflows, and writing clear instructions for the writers to follow.
  • Providing feedback: Provide constructive feedback to in-house and freelance writers to develop their skills and ensure projects are delivered to our clients’ satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand our clients’ branding, messaging and content needs. Maintain open communication with the Content Director and Project Managers to address client feedback and revisions.
  • Research: Conduct research to gather information on destinations, travel trends, fashion and any client-specific requirements to create accurate and informative content.
  • Content strategy: Implement clients’ SEO goals for the target audience, ensuring content is optimised for search engines.
  • Deadline management: Manage content production schedules with our writers to meet project deadlines and ensure timely delivery of projects to clients.
  • Stay updated: Stay current with industry trends, emerging destinations and digital marketing best practices within the travel, tourism, real estate and fashion sectors.
  • Other duties as required by management from time to time.

Mandatory Skills

  • Exceptional copy editing: Proficient in editing content for spelling, punctuation and grammar errors.
  • Fact-checking: Ability to review content for factual errors, ensuring it meets high-quality standards.
  • Research aptitude: Proficient in researching and gathering accurate and relevant information on various travel topics.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of clients across multiple industries, including different writing styles and content types.
  • Copywriting: Proficient in crafting clear, engaging and error-free content tailored to diverse audiences. Able to adapt writing style to fit a client's brand and target market.
  • SEO knowledge: Understanding of SEO principles and the ability to incorporate relevant keywords and optimise content for search engines.
  • Time management: Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Cultural awareness: Awareness of cultural nuances and sensitivities when writing content related to international destinations and diverse audiences.
  • Creativity: Creative thinking to craft engaging, unique content that captures readers' attention.
  • Digital literacy: Familiarity with content management systems and digital marketing tools we may use occasionally or the ability to learn rapidly.
  • Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure content is error-free and adheres to style and branding guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team, including working with the Content Director, Project Managers and Developers to deliver comprehensive content solutions.
  • Previous experience: At least two years of experience as a Copy Editor or similar in other related fields is desirable.
