Job description

KWCC provides safe and supportive accommodation for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

It is a healing environment that works with all members of the family in a way which enriches women’s lives by supporting their individual choices.

This program aims to ensure that women and children are safe and provided with a trauma informed service and environment.

KWCC strives to make systemic change by working closely with other service providers to prevent violence or are escaping this violence.

The Coordinator leads a team of rostered case and support workers to ensure the services provided are of a high standard, are reflective of the needs of the people using the service as well as maintaining the philisophy of the Organisation.  The Coordinator also ensures that professional standards are maintained and the service provision reflects and adheres to relevant Governemnt Policies, Legislation and keeps abreast of these and ensures that colleagues are informed as required.

As well as leading the team the Coordinator also:

oversees and manages the physical resources associated with the crisis accommodation service

provides coordination, leadership, supervision and direction to the program staff

other relevant duties within the scope of the position and/or to add value to KWCC overall.

Selection Criteria

  • a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Social Science, Human Resources or another related field
  • demonstrated knowledge of Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence
  • a sound knowledge of the NT and Australian Legislation relevant to this service
  • demonstrated knowledge of relevant guidelines, frameworks, strength based and trauma informed approach 
  • minimum 2 years experience in Coordinating and leading a program
  • expeerience in case management 
  • demeonstrated knowledge of cultural and cross cultural issues and working with people of CALD cultures, and willing to apply this knowledge in this role.
  • current Australian Police Check
  • Ochre card (working with children)
  • knowledge of mandatory reporting of DFSV/Child protection
  • current drivers licence
