You’re welcome at RASA

Our belief in the transformative power of relationships lies at the heart of everything we do.  You will be joining an inclusive, supportive and welcoming culture. Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA) Values are Diversity, Respect, Belonging and Learning and this is reflected in the way we work and treat each other.  Our teams embrace people from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, sexual and gender identities. We understand that your relationships are important, so we believe in being flexible, where possible, to support you to balance your work and personal commitments.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a dedicated Reset2Respect (R2R) Counsellor to join our team. This role involves providing holistic men's behaviour change interventions aimed at reducing violence, addressing gendered stereotype beliefs, and tackling the underlying psychosocial factors that contribute to the use of violence and coercive control in intimate partner relationships.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification (AQF level 8) in social work, psychology, counselling, or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals, couples, or families in a therapeutic context.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing counselling to those effected by Family and Domestic Violence including children and those using violence in relationships.

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Postgraduate (AQF level 9) qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating therapeutic Family and Domestic Violence behaviour change groups.

What you will be doing

  • Provide high-quality, responsive face-to-face and online individual counselling and group work interventions.

  • Create a psychoeducational and therapeutic learning environment to help clients reduce their FDV behaviour and risk to others.

  • Undertake comprehensive holistic screening and risk assessment using the Detection of Overall Risk Screen (DOORS) tool.

  • Ensure effective interventions through sound case formulation, intervention, review, closure processes, and appropriate reporting and referrals.

  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and develop safety plans to ensure client safety.

  • Work collaboratively with other services to enable coordinated support and make tailored and sequenced referrals for clients.

  • Maintain and share comprehensive knowledge of local service and referral options.

  • Ensure sound clinical interventions based on current therapeutic practices and engage in supervision to articulate the relationship between theory and practice.

Join us in making a meaningful impact by promoting respect and safety in relationships. If you are passionate about driving positive change and have the skills and experience required, we would love to hear from you.
