Course Advisor

The Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is one of the only institutes in the world specialising in engineering education and training. It is an exciting and dynamic global organization with staff located around the world. Our head office and campus are based in Perth and a second campus in Melbourne.  

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a positive, motivated and enthusiastic team member to join our dynamic Course Advisor team. This role will be based in our West Perth office.

You’ll be responsible for managing leads for our online and on-campus courses, attending education exhibitions, nurturing relationships and training EIT’s Education Agent partners within assigned regions. You will be an integral part of our marketing and student recruitment team!

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Promoting EIT brand awareness, gather market intelligence on what markets/programs work for us;
  • Taking charge of inbound and outbound phone and web-based enquiries from potential students and maintaining adequate records of contacts made in the Customer Relationship Management system;
  • Assisting walk in students.
  • Assisting on student information webinars where required;
  • Following up phone and email enquiries to convert them into student registrations;
  • Answering incoming Live Chat enquiries;
  • Creating relationships with potential students leading through to class enrolments and commencements;
  • Working on various telemarketing campaigns calling prospective students, as required;
  • Clearly explaining programs and eligibility requirements to potential students;
  • Responding to questions within live webinars that are run as part of the marketing strategy;
  • Attending corporate and education exhibitions;
  • Ad Hoc duties as and when required by your line managers.

WHO YOU ARE

Critical to this role is having a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude. You will be a good communicator with a clear and confident speaking voice and enjoy making phone calls to follow up on course enquiries, as this will be the main part of the role.

You will have a strong customer focus and be committed to provide exceptional service at all times. You may be dealing with potential students who have English as a second language; therefore, patience and cultural awareness are important to the role.

You must be able to work well both autonomously and in a team environment and relate well to your colleagues in other departments. Your ability to prioritise whilst having a flexible and adaptable approach will set you on the pathway to success.

Your knowledge/experience in sales and/or customer service will be advantageous. You should be a confident user of Microsoft Office programs and be able to learn and use new software applications effectively.

Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role and have knowledge of the Higher Education and/or Vocational sectors, although we encourage people with diverse sales or customer service experience to apply for this position. Most importantly you must have a willingness to learn, adapt and make a positive contribution to the team. There are opportunities to grow in the role there is a possibility of international travel to education agents in different regions.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Positive attitude and strong desire to provide outstanding customer service;
  • Aptitude for being on the 'front line' of customer service with a strong customer focus;
  • Clear, confident speaking voice;
  • Good written communication skills;
  • A strong desire to help potential students with accurate information and advice;
  • Confident user of email software, live chat, Microsoft Office programs and Customer Relationship Management software;
  • A strong desire to exceed your KPIs;
  • Able to carry out fast and accurate data entry
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Able to prioritise daily tasks to meet KPI’s

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Experience in a sales/customer service environment, dealing with customer calls and face to face appointments.
  • Vocational or Higher Education background. 
  • Ability to travel internationally to education agents.
