About the Role
The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning seeks to appoint a Creative Practitioner in Landscape Architecture. The role involves innovative creative practice and design research, emphasizing design studio teaching. The Creative Practitioner should demonstrate expertise in Landscape Architecture, integrating academic scholarship with creative practice. The position aims to contribute to the Faculty's mission by addressing societal and environmental challenges through ethical and innovative design-led approaches. The successful candidate will enhance interdisciplinary design culture, teach at various levels, and collaborate with colleagues to refine academic programs. Additionally, they are expected to establish research links and engage with industry, government, and communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Active contribution to teaching delivery in the Landscape Architecture program
  • Successfully prepare and deliver seminars and workshops at undergraduate and graduate levels, including supporting materials.
  • Support the development and evaluation of curriculum and educational resources as required
  • Contribute to scholarly presentations and publications or other relevant outputs
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate for this role is a dedicated and collaborative academic with strong communication skills, a passion for Landscape Architecture, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, contributing to student learning and program development with a focus on continuous improvement.
You will also have:
  • A PhD in Landscape architecture or a Master of Landscape Architecture degree with well regarded practice experience in Landscape Architecture - including as evidenced by published projects or awards for practice-based work.
  • An experienced Landscape Architecture practitioner who will bring specific skills and knowledge from their professional setting.
  • Demonstrable teaching experience in a diversity of Landscape Architecture design studios and skills appropriate for undergraduate and/or graduate content delivery

The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is the leading educational and research institution in the Asia-Pacific region addressing the design and realisation of environments.
