Ruah is proud to be developing the Karlup Service, a holistic, wraparound recovery-based model aimed at supporting women and children to heal from family and domestic violence. The Karlup Service will provide a range of offerings from the Ruah Centre for Women and Children (RCWC), a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility in Perth’s CBD.

One of the many Karlup Service offerings is a crèche, which will provide child-minding services for women while they access other service offerings required to support their healing and recovery such as health care and counselling.

The Crèche Coordinator will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the crèche within the Karlup Service, ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This position involves planning, organising, and implementing all aspects of the crèche program, including facility establishment, staff recruitment, and ongoing management and compliance.

We are seeking someone to fulfil this role on a part-time 0.6FTE basis.

What we’re looking for

The successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education, Child Development or higher.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership or management role within a crèche or similar childcare environment.
  • The following criteria are considered desirable:
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and coordinating quality childcare programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the developmental and care needs of children at all ages.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, and ability to use these effectively when communicating with children, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a similar or community care setting and/or demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how to deliver quality care to children who have experienced family and domestic violence or other trauma.
