About the role

The Rural Valuations Manager role sits within the Collateral Risk Team (CRT) which has the responsibility of monitoring and managing all aspects of the risks associated with the Banks collateral portfolio. The primary function for the management of this collateral risk is the determination of the market value of all assets that the Bank holds a mortgage over for the provision of loans. The Rural Valuations Manager has the responsibility of providing a regular, independent and consistent assessment, and where required an oversight and review, of the value of collateral held by the Bank.

This is a 12 month fixed term role, and could be based in Central New South Wales.

Top Role Accountabilities:

  • Completing quality, accurate and timely market appraisals

  • Conducting physical property inspections or generate virtual property reports as required

  • Establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with the ability to inform on portfolio information, collateral risk reports, climate and environmental impacts

To be successful in the role, it is desirable but not essential that you have any of the following:

  • Degree in Property, Agriculture or Finance or related discipline

  • Qualified as a Registered Valuer / Certified Practicing Valuer

  • Prior experience in the valuation of rural assets or as an Agribusiness manager or rural credit approval

  • Sound knowledge of the rural and agribusiness environments in Australia

  • Awareness of climate and environmental challenges and impacts on agriculture
