Your future role
Austin has an exciting permanent full-time employment opportunity for a suitably qualified Business Development Manager for Australia. The Business Development Manager is a trusted and integral team member reporting to the General Manager for the proactive development of new business opportunities.
Ideally, you will have worked in a similar role within a company that provides engineered solutions for HME. Experience in load and haul equipment or other large mining attachments is critical to be successful in this role. This is a critical hire for a global business seeking to expand its market share Nationally.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
Lead, proactively and continually, the development and increase of new business opportunities and turn them into firm sales order intake and revenue
Lead the significant increase in Austin market share
Lead, develop and report against sales strategies, developing focused sales action plans.
Lead the development and monthly review of the Sales and Operations Plan (SOP)
Lead the development and monthly review of the pipeline baseline, actuals and forecasts
Assist with marketing / promotion / sales campaigns of Austin, its products and capabilities
Lead competitor market research / analysis to gain advantage in understanding Price To Win (PTW) etc. for opportunities
Lead the building of relationships with existing and new clients.
Lead the aftersales service direct with clients for all new products.
Assist Product Support Manager with the warranty service for all new products
Lead the integration of an Austin one team approach alignment with all other Austin Business Units
Fully support the General Manager to improve Austin in all aspects of performance
Develop and maintain a Sales Plan, ensuring achievement of company Sales targets
Follow the quoting and tendering procedure for quote registrations, in line with the relevant registers to prepare, calculate, and finalise quotes, ready to submit to customers.
Ensure all quote estimates are based on up-to-date input costs for labour, steel, and other miscellaneous materials and subcontract services.
Ensure all quotes and estimations are recorded in required systems
Discuss appropriate margin levels with the General Manager when creating estimates and quotations for customers
Collaborate with Sales staff to develop new and innovative ways to improve estimating accuracy and improve the time in completing quotes to customers
Maintain an up-to-date register of all sales enquiries, quotes and estimate calculations
Check quotations for any possible errors, ensuring adherence to company policies with regard to cost structures and margin levels
Keep abreast of price movements in the market, in particular with regard to steel increases.
Assist and liaise with the Operations & Sales team in Batam and East Coast Australia for all new product opportunities delivered out of Batam, to West Australia
Be involved in regular meetings, formal and informal with internal departments to ensure quotes are handled in a timely manner
Relay all pertinent customer information to relevant internal departments in a timely manner to ensure any order variations or quotation scope changes are captured in the system
Work closely with internal departments to ensure customers are well informed at the time of quotation of the engineering and build lead times
Regular weekly / monthly planning of customer visits and follow up calls
Qualifications & experience
10 years sales experience, preferably in the mobile mining equipment industry
Technical or trade background would be beneficial;
Leadership skills – team management, dynamics and change management with an ability to coach and mentor individuals.
Experience with Microsoft Office software programs essential;
Experience with CRM systems
Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and provide exemplary customer service.
Strong problem-solving skills
Highly motivated self-starter
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate and assist others by sharing knowledge and experience
