Job description

THE ROLE 

We have an opportunity for a junior logistics or admin professional to join our Customs Team in Alexandria on a fixed-term maternity leave cover contract for approximately 12 Months with a view to permanent. 

This role will be required to assist customs brokers and the team as a whole with the on time Customs and Quarantine clearance/release of import consignments.

What will your day involve? 

  • Work closely with our experienced team of Customs Brokers and operators to ensure the on-time delivery of Customs and Quarantine clearance/release of consignments
  • Provide precise customs declaration information, collaborating closely with importers/clients
  • Manage the flow of documentation, including registration, classification, and compilation
  • Compile paperwork and ensure relevant systems are updated with accurate and timely information 
  • Provide general administrative support to Customs Team 
  • Invoicing and preparation of various reports as required 
  • Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

ABOUT YOU - What are we looking for? 
  • Strong customer service and communication skills 
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS office and ability to learn new systems quickly 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Flexible with operating hours 
  • Deadline driven and able to follow customs/quarantine guidelines 
Previous experience in the freight forwarding industry or basic understanding of Australian Customs/Quarantine procedures is preferred but not essential
