UnitingCare is currently seeking a talented and experienced Cyber and Risk Analyst to join our internal Cyber Security team.

Your part in our UnitingCare team: 

This role will involve a mix of operational, technical, and compliance-related security responsibilities, including incident response, system reviews, vendor evaluations, implementation of security controls, risk communication to internal teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

  • Manage cyber security platforms and tools such as email security gateways, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms to ensure effective security posture and threat mitigation.
  • Perform reviews of new systems or platforms to assess security risks and ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate third-party vendors for security risks and ensure they meet our security requirements.
  • Recommend and implement security controls to mitigate identified risks and strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • Monitor and analyse security events and incidents to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security solutions and initiatives.
  • Raise cyber related risks to the internal risk management team and assist in developing strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.

Please note, this is a permanent full-time role with hybrid working options available. 
 

What makes a difference for us? 

  • Proven experience working in a similar role, with a solid understanding of cyber security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, email security gateways, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, Essential 8, and PCI DSS.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate cyber related risks to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience and industry certifications (ITIL, CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+ or related similar qualifications) will be considered.
