About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Cyber Security Architect is a Senior and experienced Cyber Security expert who plays an integral role in defining and assessing ASC's security strategy, architecture, and practices. This role will work closely with the CISO in the development and execution of ASC's Cyber Security strategy. The role will be required to effectively translate business objectives and risk management activities into specific security initiatives enabled by security technologies and services.
The Cyber Security Architect must have extensive experience in developing and implementing controls to defend against an advanced dynamic and persistent threat environment and will be integral in managing ASC's Cyber Security risks. The Cyber Security Architect will have technical expertise in the modern Cyber Security Toolsets and a strong background in Cyber Security.
Responsibilities

  • Development of the Cyber Security strategy, plans and roadmaps based on enterprise architecture principles.
  • Develop and maintain Cyber Security architecture standards and procedures used to leverage security capabilities in projects and operations.
  • Participate and lead application and infrastructure projects to provide Cyber Security planning advice and consultation.
  • Conduct threat modelling of services and applications that tie to the risk and data associated with the service or application.
  • Validate IT infrastructure and other reference architectures for security best practices and recommend changes to enhance security and reduce risk where applicable.
  • Support the testing and validation of security controls as directed.

  • Liaise with other IT architects and stakeholders to share best practices and insights.
About you
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, Cyber Security or a related field
  • Extensive experience in cyberSecurity Architecture and or design
  • Extensive experience designing environments and integrating security infrastructure such as firewalls, IPSs, WAFs, endpoint protection, SIEM and log management technology.
  • Documented experience and a strong working knowledge of the methodologies to conduct threat-modelling exercises on new applications and services.
  • Highly autonomous and self-motivated, demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, discipline, and an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work, communicate, and resolve conflict effectively in a diverse/multi-disciplined project-oriented team environment as well as with stakeholders and the wider business.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
