Our Kwinana based IT Team is looking for an enterprising, enthusiastic, outcome driven and proactive person to fill a recently created role which has a primary focus as a Cyber Security Officer with the secondary role to include broader IT team duties.

About the role

The core responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with investigations relating to any potential security breaches. 
  • Prepare reports on a needs basis.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the business’ security posture and mitigate issues as agreed or deemed by auditors.
  • Companywide software Vulnerability Management regime(s), in line with IT legislation requirements or as directed by Management.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews relating to legislative changes to ensure compliance (e.g. SOCI, NIST)
  • Management of the Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) system including logging reviews, audits and checks. 
  • Development of cyber and general security policies and procedures as required.
  • Manage and deliver audit related security activities including but not limited to SOCI, NIST, Penetration Tests on external services. 
  • Assigning security permissions for system access.
  • Engage with security vendors and stay up to date with product knowledge.
  • Recommend security technologies by evaluating current trends.
  • Implement new security regimes and controls.
  • Conduct security checks across all platforms as required. 
  • Attending Cyber Security conferences.

The successful candidate 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can demonstrate:

  • Formal qualification in Cyber Security/ Networking/ Computer Science and/or equivalent experience. 
  • Experience with identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with end point detection and response products. 
  • Self‐motivation with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to interpret legislative acts.
  • Ability to develop reports, procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A team player with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
