Operating with a modern tech stack within a largely greenfield environment, BUMA is committed to Cyber Security excellence and boasts a supportive, security-focused executive team.

As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you'll play a vital role in BUMA's Brisbane head office, collaborating on the development and management of essential security tools and technologies. You'll ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, regulations, and legislation, safeguarding BUMA's data and guaranteeing the uninterrupted operation of IT systems and mining operations.

This position demands a strong blend of technical and communication skills, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning. By staying abreast of the evolving cyber threat landscape and emerging technologies, you'll contribute significantly to BUMA's secure future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate security incidents, analyse root cause, and implement preventive measures.
  • Install, configure and maintain technical security tools.
  • Work with our managed services partner to manage security technologies protecting BUMA ICT systems and services.
  • Support the delivery of annual security improvements, security assessments and audits.
  • Provide cybersecurity guidance and advice to the Tech team and the broader business.
  • Work with business SMEs to review and standardise any bespoke site solutions (i.e., access control systems, security cameras, etc.).

It is expected that this position will be based in the BUMA South Brisbane office five days a week. Occasional travel to site may be required.

Profile description:

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent industry qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience in networking, firewalls, SIEM platforms and cloud components and concepts
  • Experience in Cyber Security incident response processes, procedures and tools
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders at all levels
