Dance Teacher

Our College is seeking qualified candidates to fill a permanent full time position as a Dance teacher. The suitable candidate will have expertise in teaching Dance in a high school setting. A second teaching area would also be beneficial.

• You are an active listener and a leader who engages with and builds strong positive relationships with members of the College community including staff, students, and parents. 
• You can cater for students with diverse backgrounds, needs and abilities.

As a teacher at Calvary Christian College, your responsibilities centre upon planning, preparing and delivering effective learning programs to unleash the potential of our students. As a teacher, you will:

• Reflect the College’s inquiry-based approach to exceptional learning in everyday practice. 
• Plan, prepare and deliver quality learning experiences in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
• Maintain competency and a current knowledge of relevant curriculum programs.
• Create supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
• Provide for the physical, social, cultural, and emotional wellbeing and safety of students while at the College and assist students in becoming effective leaders within their community. 
• Assess students for developmental, feedback and reporting purposes.
• Maintain student records and samples of work and report on student performance to students, parents, the department, and other stakeholders as required.
• Participate in the collaborative development and evaluation of the curriculum and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the teaching program.
• Participate in co-curricular activities, school decision making processes and professional development.
• Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships between the school and community.
• All teachers at Calvary are expected to plan, prepare, and deliver devotions as part of the College’s formation program. 

• Queensland College of Teachers registration (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in teaching Dance. 

1. Demonstrated teaching competence and application of contemporary pedagogy. 
2. Demonstrated understanding of Australian Curriculum.
3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and capacity to create a classroom environment that improves student outcomes.
4. Outline how your faith and beliefs align with ours as a Christian College.
