About the role:

Through the Defence Assistance Program (DAP) our employees support Defence personnel to focus on their core duties. Endeavour Foundation deliver the DAP program in partnership with Defence at ten sites nationally. We directly employ staff in QLD, NSW, SA, NT, ACT and VIC. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a DAP Coordinator in Canberra, ACT.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Actively marketing the DAP to clients across the Canberra Defence precinct.
  • Building and maintaining networks with the local Defence community.
  • Acting as the conduit between Defence and the Contractor.
  • Actively managing any issues that may arise and escalate appropriately when required.
  • Delivering presentations to Defence clients considering accessing the Services.
  • Facilitating all required training for all DAP Team members (including security and emergency response requirements).
  • Managing DAP Team absences and advising the Defence Representative of DAP Team absences or closures.
  • Facilitating Defence Site access for Contractor visitors when required. 
  • Supporting the DAP Team to have a self-sufficient operating model in terms of securing ongoing Services, engagement, and day-to-day troubleshooting of the Services. 
  • Identifying when issues which may affect the Contractor’s ability to provide the Services need to be escalated and escalating those issues as soon as practicable to the Defence Representative.

What will you bring:

  • Experience in the Disability sector
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline including Business, Community or Social Service (desirable).
  • Experience working with people with a disability in an employment setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching individuals and delivering learning opportunities, preferably for those with disability
  • A strong team leader and team member with ability to influence and develop teams to improved performance.
  • Financial management skills including general finance and budgeting
  • Interpersonal and communication skills required to grow relationships with team members and stakeholders and deal with issues of a sensitive nature.
  • Possession of a current driver’s licence, reliable motor vehicle and comprehensive insurance.
  • Willing and able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance from the Australian Government
