The Role

Reporting to the Principal Data Collection Officer and the Senior Data Collection Officers within the Analytics Improvement and Transformation Unit, Mental Health Alcohol & Other Drugs Branch, Clinical Excellence Queensland, you will provide ongoing support and advice to healthcare providers to ensure compliance with Data Collection and submission standards. You will actively liaise with Hospital and Health Services, non-government organisations, and private agencies to provide expert advice on the maintenance and improvement of mental health and substance use information systems.

As a key member of the team, you will develop and implement procedures to identify and resolve discrepancies in information and maintain the integrity and quality of datasets. You will also use project and change management methodologies to coordinate and implement information initiatives and will be responsible for preparing high-quality reports for senior staff and key stakeholders, and meeting State and Commonwealth reporting requirements. Your role will also involve assisting in the preparation and dissemination of comprehensive documentation and communications relating to Data Collection and information systems, adhering to defined service quality standards and health and safety policies and procedures.

The successful person

Success in this role requires a proven track record in collecting, processing and organising statistical data. In addition, you should exhibit proficiency in creating meaningful reports using a range of clinical and administrative databases in the realms of mental health and substance use data sets.

Furthermore, your skills should extend to information systems, including development and operation, coupled with effective communication, consultation, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated experience of liaising with Queensland Health officers, non-government organisations, and representatives of external agencies and professional bodies is essential, particularly in dealing with sensitive or complex issues.
