What you'll be doing

  • Designing, building, and maintaining batch or real-time data pipelines in production.
  • Maintaining and optimizing the data infrastructure for accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources.
  • Developing ETL processes for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Automating data workflows, including data ingestion, aggregation, and ETL processing.
  • Preparing raw data in Data Warehouses for use by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Building, maintaining, and deploying data products for analytics and data science teams on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance through quality control procedures.
  • Monitoring data system performance and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Leveraging data controls to maintain privacy, security, compliance, and quality.

What will make you successful in this role?

Success in this role will require you to possess characteristics like those listed below:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Advanced skills in SQL and experience with relational databases and database design.
  • Experience with cloud Data Warehouse solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure, etc.
  • Familiarity with data ingestion tools such as Fivetran, Stitch, ADF or Matillion.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in building and deploying machine learning models in production.
  • Proficiency in data pipeline and workflow management tools.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to guide and oversee the selection and application of Data Engineering methodologies, tools, and practices.
