Hays is currently working with an established organisation in Newcastle looking for an experienced Data Migration Specialist to support a transformative project in the HR space.
Your new role
Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role in Data Migration? Do you have experience leading Data Migration projects from end to end? Do you have strong technical skills in SQL, ETL, and data quality? If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
As the Data Migration Specialist, you will own the Data Migration activities from start to completion of a highly visible project. You will set up, manage and execute the strategy for the profiling, cleansing, mapping and migration of data from existing applications into new database structures. You will work closely with both internal and vendor resources to ensure data quality and integrity throughout the migration lifecycle. Leveraging your extensive knowledge of data governance and security, you will ensure best practice is applied and procedures during the migration process. You will also provide support and troubleshooting for any Data Migration issues and be responsible for providing detailed and accurate documentation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience in a similar role, providing Data Migration strategies for large volumes of data across cloud applications
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a natural ability to lead and guide technical and non-technical teams
- Thorough understanding of Data Migration, modelling, integration and ETL processes
- Demonstrated expertise using data manipulation tools and technologies including SQL and ETL tools
- An ability to consult on data governance and data security best practice and procedures
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is highly desirable

In this role you will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team. The initial contract term is 3 months. This role is based out of Newcastle and the client is open to extending remote working arrangements for the right candidate.
