Job Description:
MONA seeks a highly skilled and passionate Data Modeller to join our dedicated team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the museum's data landscape; designing and building data models that are robust, flexible, and efficient. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will translate their needs into data structures that unlock powerful insights and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance data models for various data sources and platforms. This includes conceptual, logical, and physical data models that adhere to best practices and align with business requirements.
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to visualise and communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver optimal data solutions.
- Champion data modelling best practices within your assigned business domain. Ensure data architecture alignment and implement governance frameworks for data quality, security, and compliance.
- Document and communicate data models and metadata clearly and concisely to stakeholders. Ensure everyone understands the structure and meaning of the data.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide high-level expertise within data modelling projects.
- Design and implement data warehousing architecture and drive alignment across business domains.
- Stay current with the latest data modelling technologies and methodologies. Continuously improve your skills and knowledge to adapt to evolving data landscapes.
- Work closely with the digital team to ensure seamless integration and efficient data access.
- Advise and implement best practices for data modelling in projects. Share your expertise and support colleagues in optimising data utilisation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, preferably with a focus on data modelling.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years as a Data Modeller or similar role, with a solid track record of successfully developing and implementing data models.
- Deep understanding of data modelling principles and methodologies, including dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data modelling tools such as SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, unified modelling language, Python, R and cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into data models.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality, security, and governance.
