About the role
As a Data Platform Support Specialist in Investments, you'll play a critical role in daily business support, maintenance and testing of a cloud-based Data Platform used by the internal CBUS Investments team.
Working closely with both the business unit and the engineering team you'll ensure that the daily operation of the platform is successful by identifying and responding to any problems and queries in the day-to-day operations.
The role is embedded within the growing CBUS Data and Insights team, utilising the latest technology stack from Microsoft Azure, working closely with the Investment business unit and external technology suppliers to generate greater investment returns and enable greater business opportunities.

What you bring

  • Demonstrated experience in providing level 1 or level 2 support for a cloud-based platform.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in working within financial services, preferably with exposure to Investments.
  • Understanding of basic SQL usage with the ability to write read queries or to use existing queries to traverse data sets.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability and desire to proactively identify operational issues based on data driven methods.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience and willingness to work in an agile environment with an interest in supporting UAT activities, or some previous testing experience.
  • Experience in supporting operational cloud platforms.
  • Experience with third party Investment systems such as Factset, BarraOne, Bloomberg.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities (but not limited to)
The Data Platform Specialist is responsible for level 1 and 2 support functions, escalating to the engineering team, where necessary.
A high level stakeholder management is required, understanding how the end users interact with the platform and to actively look for ways to improve their experience.
As this role deals closely with the Investments team, a background in finance and/or investments would be highly advantageous.
A high level of involvement with UAT execution will also be expected for any new functionality being delivered by the engineering team, ensuring that the features being released can be understood and well supported.
  • Level 1&2 support for Investments Data Platform for the internal CBUS Investments team.
  • Perform troubleshooting, analysis and resolution of technical problems related to the daily operation of the platform and its applications.
  • Escalate complex or urgent issues to higher levels of support or engineering teams.
  • Assist users with general enquiries from the business around platform operation and setup.
  • Educate and train users on the platform features and best practices.
  • Document and report platform issues, solutions, and feedback.
  • Collaborate with other support staff and engineering teams to ensure user satisfaction and platform reliability.
  • Monitor established data flows and alerts for errors.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the platform and its applications, as required by project scope and goals.
  • Coordinate with the QA and UAT teams to understand the test cases, scenarios, and scripts for the platform.
  • Promoting awareness of our data assets across the wider business.
