Job description

We are searching for an experienced Data Quality Analystto join our high performing team. This is a permanent, fulltime opportunity based out of our Beaudesert Road branch in Acacia Ridge.

Reporting to the Data Governance & Quality Practice Manager, this role primarily exists to ensure that organisational data is accurate, reliable, consistent, and compliant with standards and regulations.

The key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:

  • Assessing the quality of existing data through various methods such as data profiling, data analysis, and Data Quality measurements
  • Identifying and correcting errors, inconsistencies, and duplications within datasets
  • Defining and implementing Data Quality standards, policies, and procedures to maintain high-quality data across the organisation
  • Monitoring Data Quality metrics and trends, generating reports, and providing insights to stakeholders on Data Quality issues and improvements
  • Investigating root causes of Data Quality issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders on the importance of Data Quality and best practices for data management
  • Collaborating with data analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of Data Quality initiatives with business goals and objectives
  • Continuously assessing and improving Data Quality processes, tools, and methodologies to adapt to changing business needs and technological advancements
  • Ensuring compliance with data regulations and industry-specific standards
  • Maintaining documentation of Data Quality processes, procedures, and workflows for reference and audit purposes

About You

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages commonly used for data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with Data Quality management tools and methodology
  • Familiarity with relevant data regulations and their implications for Data Quality management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify Data Quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders from various departments, including data analysts, data engineers, business users, and executives
