About This Opportunity
The Data Scientist is a newly created role within the central Marketing & Communication (M&C) division. Working with a team of data specialists, you will lead the collection, preparation, and analysis of large datasets from multiple platforms to deliver a higher return on investment in customer experience projects, marketing campaigns and technologies. You must have relevant industry experience in data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and programming, preferably within marketing or acquisition functions.
Key responsibilities will include:
Work with stakeholders within M&C and relevant business units to identify new data science initiatives, develop business cases and execute the deliverables in line with the function’s strategic priorities.
Provide advice and support to the research team on strategic qualitative and quantitative research projects utilising text and sentiment analysis or other machine learning techniques.
Use prescriptive and predictive methodologies to optimise customer experiences, advertising targeting and business outcomes.
Develop reports and present highly complex analyse/issues for a variety of audiences
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders from other relevant business units and provide expert advice and guidance on understanding performance against metrics, including articulating results into actionable insights.
Collaborate with the data engineers and integration specialists within the IT department to build data pipelines for ML and data visualisation.

About You
Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience in computer science, data science, statistics or other relevant disciplines.
Technical knowledge and hands-on skills using data science software and AL/ML modules such as Jupyter Notebook, Docker, Databricks, & Apache Spark.
Proficient in programming languages such as R, Python, SPSS, SQL or SAS.
Experience in design, implementation, validation, and documentation of AI and ML solutions.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills within a complex multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environment, including Oracle, Azure, AWS and/or Google cloud.
Experience in gathering and documenting user requirements such as data extraction and transformation processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the principles and practices of reporting and data analysis, including data quality analysis, data visualisation, and performance metrics
What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, continuing permanent position at HEW Level 7.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $90,538 - $98,719 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $105,929 - $115,501 per annum.
