What you’ll do
- Oversee the effective management of the operation to meet production requirements and performance targets around People, Safety, Service, Value
- Build and promote a team environment focused on working collaboratively to achieve team and DC objectives
- Lead, motivate and engage team leaders and team members on the PM (13:30-22:00) shift
- Ensure that the team comply with safety policies, procedures and role responsibilities
- Use effective communication techniques to encourage open and honest communications and constant information flow
- Support implementation for continuous improvement of systems and our processes
- Review operational area performance and implement improvements to align with organisational strategy
What you’ll bring
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development through coaching and mentoring
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally and engage with stakeholders
- Results oriented and organised approach with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines and the ability to motivate others to deliver
- Working knowledge of a broad range of distribution centre systems eg. JDA (Warehouse Management System, Transport Management System, Yard Management System)
- Proficient in software such as the Microsoft and Google Suites
- Customer focussed, passionate and inclusive mindset
- Exposure to IR matters with experience in a unionised environment
- Flexibility with start times is required
