About the role
As the Kennards Hire representative to our customers, we support you with the training and development you need to be successful in your role. The DC Yard Hand is the critical link between a Kennards Hire branch, our customers and their projects, big or small. The DC Yard Hand role exists in the Distribution Centre, under the coordination of the Yard Coordinator and reports to the Service Manager. It is critical that all team members work positively together to best support the needs of our customers.
This role requires you to;
Perform equipment loading/unloading under supervision Assist customers in the yard when necessary. Meet and greet customers in a proactive and friendly manner during loading/unloading Perform branch facilities cleaning and maintenance as required Perform equipment ‘check in’ and ‘check out’ inspections and processes to QOM standards Perform equipment cleaning as required and directed • Perform all reasonable tasks requested by the Branch Manager/Assistant Manager/Duty Manager or Area manager Equipment picking (in yard), collating and checking for Ready for Hire statusSuccessful applicants have come from various backgrounds such as; Customer service, building & construction, hospitality, retail, driver, landscaping, trade & maintenance.A valid driver's licenceThe availability to work weekends on a rotating rosterThis role requires some physical components including lifting and standing on your feet for long periods. A level of physical fitness is required and the ability to pass a drug testStrong communication skillsBe proactive and keen to learn new skillsAn interest in machinery and equipment, although training will be providedA positive attitude and team playerWhy join the family
