Legacy is a not-for-profit organisation. Our aged care facility is dedicated to providing outstanding care to members of our community. We are a 49-bed facility, making us one of the smaller facilities in our area, which allows us to ensure personal and genuine, quality care.
Position Information -
We currently have an opportunity available for a DDON/Educator to join our wonderful team. This is a permanent fulltime position (76hrs per fortnight – Hours are negotiable for the right candidate). This position will have the potential of additional Registered Nurse shifts when required. You will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to help make a difference in elderly people’s lives.
You will assist the clinical and care teams to provide excellent levels of resident care while supporting the Director of Nursing with responsibilities including staff management, education, accreditation compliance and continuous quality improvement.
Key responsibilities will include -
- Ensure the provision of high quality care for all residents
- To assist and support the Director of Nursing with planning, organising, directing and managing of resources and general clinical administration.
- Understanding/awareness of the new ANACC funding system - Desirable
- Maintenance of clinical stock and ordering systems
- Provide leadership which is innovative, supportive, promotes trust and encourages teamwork.
- High level of involvement in maintaining accreditation standards and continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain education calendar
- Provide one on one and small group education sessions – Education training can be provided.
- Ensuring education objectives align with current aged care quality standards

What we require –
- Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated clinical care & staff leadership
- Experience as a DDON desirable.
- Experience in Aged Care desirable
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and Australian National Aged Care Classification funding model (AN-ACC) desirable
- Experience in conducting clinical assessments
- Able to provide direction and motivate a multi-disciplinary team with a passion to deliver exceptional care and service to our residents.
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills, human resources and information systems management
- Intermediate computer literacy desirable.
- Available for shift work (including weekends when required)
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and professionally.
- Attention to detail
- Display empathy, sensitivity, discretion, and kindness.
- Current NDIS Workers Check or willing to undertake NDIS Workers Check
- Evidence of right to work in Australia
