About The Role
Journey Beyond are pleased to be working in collaboration with Paspaley, operating a Pearl Farm Tour out of Broome commencing in July 2024. The tour showcases the operating Paspaley Pearl Farm in Roebuck Bay with the pearls themselves as the centre piece of the tour. The itinerary includes a 4-hour experience, which will also see the guests delivered to the Paspaley Boutique in Broome prior to returning to their hotels.
We are currently recruiting for hybrid Deckhand/Host positions working alongside our Vessel Master from June/July through to October 2024.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Meeting and greeting guests at the commencement of their tour
- Providing safety briefings and tour commentary onboard the vessel
- Undertaking the pearl ‘reveal’ onboard the vessel and commentary on Pearl Farm activity and harvest
- General Deckhand duties including preparing the vessel for cruises, cleaning the vessel, line handling and assisting in refuelling
- Maintaining vessel records to the appropriate standard, including maintenance logs
- Other duties as requested by the Vessel Master
About You
With a true passion for delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and be a real team player. You will have a natural friendly demeanour, immaculate personal presentation and be able to use your initiative/pivot across priorities to ensure the successful delivery of the tour.
Previous experience in a Deckhand role would be advantageous. The successful incumbent will also be required to hold a Food Handling certificate.
