About Us:

White’s IGA is an innovative, market leading, independently owned and operated supermarket group based on the Sunshine Coast. Roz and Michael White purchased a small convenience store in Maroochydore in 1993. Since this time the business has grown from 1 store with 3 staff to 6 stores. Our stores are designed to capture the vibrancy of the local community with an emphasis on ‘fresh and local’. 

About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Deli 2IC's across our store network. As the second-in-command, you will assist the Deli Manager in maintaining high standards of product quality, customer service, and team performance. 

About you:

Suitable candidates must have industry experience in a similar role to competently assist in a wide range of operational functions and help lead a team to deliver retail excellence standards. Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Team Leadership: Collaborate with the Produce Manager to lead and inspire a team of produce department employees, providing clear direction and guidance to achieve department goals.
• Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing produce inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
• Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards for product quality, ensuring the produce department consistently offers fresh, attractive, and safe products to our customers.
• Customer Service: Champion excellent customer service by training and motivating the team to provide friendly assistance, answer questions, and offer product recommendations.
• Merchandising: Assist with the effective presentation and organisation of the produce section, including product displays, signage, and promotions to maximize sales.
• Health & Safety: Promote and enforce safety protocols and compliance with food safety regulations, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment.
• Financial Performance: Support the Produce Manager in achieving department financial goals by monitoring expenses, sales targets, and profitability.
• Vendor Relations: Collaborate with vendors to maintain strong relationships, negotiate favourable terms, and seek out new products to diversify the department's offerings.
• Training & Development: Identify training needs and work with the Produce Manager to provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the team.
• Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to department operations, including sales, shrink, and employee performance.
