The purpose of this role is to perform tasks involving physical labour such as operating hand and power tools and removing asbestos at demolition sites.
This role includes (but won't be limited to):
- Cleaning and preparing a job site
- Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans
- Using a variety of tools and machines such as power drills, jackhammers, levels, lifts, blowtorches, forklifts, grinders, saws, pressure washers and water spraying equipment
- Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding and other temporary structures
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, adjustment or movement of machinery and materials
- Shovel and move materials such as concrete, asphalt and rubble
- Lubricate, clean and repair machinery, equipment and tools
- Read and interpret plans, instructions and specifications to determine work activities
- Identify, pack and transport materials and/or hazardous materials
This is a great opportunity and to be considered, we are looking for:
- Experience working as a Demolition Labourer for at least 2 years
- Experience working with contaminated material such as asbestos
- Knowledge of different recyclable material such as steel, aluminium, copper etc
- White Card
- Current SOAs and VOCs
- Ability to oxy cut steel
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Good communication skills
- High Risk Work License is desirable, specifically working at heights and EWP over 11m
- Operator experience is desirable
