Doucas Dental is seeking a Part Time Dental Assistant with either previous experience and/or completed Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or currently studying with TAFE or DNA. Must be available to work on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with immediate start or by the 6th or 13th of May. Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a private dental practice is preferred. Customer service experience is required and must have the ability to work in a small fast paced team.

Qualifications & experience
- Certificate III or IV in dental assisting with Tafe or DNA
- Previous experience at a private dental practice is preferred
- Centaur D4W software knowledge and experience preferred, proficient computer skills and experience in microsoft office, outlook emails etc.
- Customer service experience
- Receptionist experience
- Experience in a fast paced workplace being able to handle more than one duty at a time
- Teamwork experience
- High School certificate
- Punctual, reliable and flexible with working hours and days.
Requirements
- Current national police clearance certificate
- Current First aid certificate completed within 12months
- Current hand hygiene australia certificate completed within 12months.
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
- Current Immunisation record required as per the Dental board of Australia and ADA. Required vaccinations include Hepatitis B & C, MMR, DTPA, Varicella.
- Provide own transport to and from work
Tasks & responsibilities
- Assist our dentists by providing more efficient dental treatment throughout the course of procedures. (Chair side assisting) Involves mixing of materials, instrument passing, record charting of the patients dentition and the use of retraction and patient mouth suction.
- Prepare the treatment rooms as directed by the dental operator and ensure correct instruments and materials are available for use.
- Sterilizing instruments and surgery chairs maintaining the operatory/surgery in accordance with the practice infection control manual
- Greet patients and prepare them for scheduled dental procedures.
- Process, develop and file patient X-rays, and operate any other digital imaging equipment.
- Provide patients with any necessary pre and post-operative instructions.
- Reception daily duties: answering phones, checking in/attending to patients on arrival and exit, booking in patient appointments, processing patient accounts, health insurance claims, explaining treatment plans with patients and assists the dentists with reports and referrals to specialists.
- General practice daily cleaning
- Monthly Stocktaking and ordering of dental products and other practice supplies.
