Our purpose is `great care every day'.The opportunityThe purpose of this role is to deliver high quality oral health services within the Townsville University Hospital and Health Service by providing clinical leadership and general practitioner oral health services to eligible adults and children within the Townsville University Hospital and Health Service Oral Health Services.The Townsville Oral Health Service (TOHS) fits within the Health and Wellbeing Service Group within the Townsville University Hospital and Health Service.The TOHS has adult and child-based clinics/chairs which are located at the Townsville Hospital, Kirwan Health Campus, North Ward Health Campus, Joyce Palmer Health Service, Ingham Health Services, Ayr Hospital, Charters Towers Health Centre, Hughenden Hospital, Richmond Health Service, Men's and Women's Correctional Services, Cleveland Youth Detention Centre. Services are delivered from Adult and School Dental mobile vans and fixed school dental clinics across the region. The TOHS provides services for eligible child and adult patients with complex medical and/or oral health conditions, including dental treatment under general, anaesthesia head and neck cancer services, pre- cardiac surgery patient's orthodontic services and special needs services as well as the community of refugees in Townsville.Role requirement
- Appointment to this position requires possession of a tertiary qualification in dentistry from a recognised institution and current registration with the Dental Board of Australia.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current annual license certificate is mandatory.
- Possession of a current licence to operate a radiation source for Dental Diagnostic Radiography (intra oral).
- There is a requirement that all dental practitioners are credentialed and have their scope of clinical practice defined with Qld Health before commencing employment and throughout employment with Qld Health.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class ‘C' motor vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
- Travel across the Townsville University Hospital and Health Service may be a requirement of this role.
- Position may require rostering at various locations across Townsville University Hospital and Health Services.
- Salary rates between $5,899.50 - $6,336.90 p.f. (DO2)
