Geraldton Transport is a family-operated transport business. Our Perth Depot in Kewdale is looking for an experienced, energetic Deport Support Officer to join our freight service team in Perth.
This position is for 6 months to cover a parental leave vacancy, with the possibility of a permanent role following the initial term. Hours will be Monday to Friday, from 8am - 4pm.
You will provide administrative and customer service support in the day-to-day operations of the Depot.
The primary duties of the role will include:
- Being the initial contact for customer and freight booking enquiries
- Manifesting consignments
- Maintaining delivery paperwork and records
- Assisting our Operations Manager, our drivers and our customers in managing depot pick ups and deliveries, and liaising with depot staff to ensure all customer requirements are met
- Assisting with depot pallet control
- Supporting our invoicing team with operational information
- Ad hoc administrative and office support duties
To be successful for this role, you must:
- Have previous experience in a similar role within the transport and logistics industry
- Have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a high volume of work and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Have high-level communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude with the willingness to learn
- Be customer-focussed and a team player, with genuine care for the needs of our internal and external customers
- Demonstrate experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
