Our client plays a vital role within the Department of Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). Their services encompass above the line contracting, project management, workforce planning, and various professional expertise.

Through collaborative efforts with Australia's small-to-medium enterprises, they actively contribute to strengthening the nation's sovereign defence industry capability.
 
The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to contribute to key CASG Defence projects, overseeing and conducting quality audits and key engineering decisions. You will lead and mentor a team of engineering professionals, serving as the go-to authority for technical guidance and ensuring that engineering practices align with current standards and future needs.

You'll drive advancements in engineering methodologies and processes, working with the latest technologies and practices to push the boundaries of what’s possible in Defence engineering.
 
The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Investigate and analyse risks, engineering issues, and requirements; develop and implement recommendations and advice
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulations, licenses, and standards, performing compliance testing and monitoring
  • Apply engineering knowledge to enhance established principles, techniques, and methods, translating high-level goals into actionable plans
  • Plan, lead, and manage quality assurance, governance, and auditing activities; identify and implement improvements in quality assurance processes
  • Conduct and manage strategic audits and reviews in areas such as strategic planning, quality management, performance measurement, and continuous improvement 
The Ideal Person

You are an experienced government contractor with over 10 years in engineering, holding an Engineering Degree recognised by the Washington Accord or equivalent. You manage various engineering disciplines, provide technical authority, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You lead and mentor engineering teams, aligning practices with current standards and future needs. You understand regulatory requirements, conduct compliance testing, and analyse risks to develop recommendations.

Your background includes quality management, ISO 9001 auditor certification, and an MBA, enabling you to handle strategic audits and quality assurance processes. You drive improvements in engineering methodologies and translate high-level goals into actionable plans.

You must have an NV1 to be eligible for this role.
 
Salary / Rate

$190 - $210 per hour including superannuation
