About the job
The Capricornian is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as Deputy Chief Financial Officer. This full time position will be based in Rockhampton and will support the leadership of the Finance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Implementing balance sheet management strategies to achieve organisational objectives.
- Assisting in achieving organisational improvement strategies through performance reporting and analysis.
- Ensuring the efficient operation of the finance function as an operating department of The Capricornian.
- Ensuring that Prudential Risk Management and Compliance policies and strategies are integrated with financial management activities.
- Making certain the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external financial and accounting reporting.
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors and internal stakeholders as required so as to ensure that the organisation meets its obligations in terms of Internal and External Audit Plans.
- Overseeing all accounting functions including; payroll, creditors, debtors, cash control, asset register, maintenance of general ledger and preparation of monthly management reports, GST requirements, Fringe Benefits Tax and Payroll Tax.
- Leading the Finance Team within The Capricornian.
- Deputise for the CFO as required.
About you
To be successful in the role of Deputy CFO, you should have:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting
- Membership with a professional accounting body (ICA or CPA)
- ASIC Tier II Statement of Attainment (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict management skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Well displayed skills in Microsoft Office programs
- Prior leadership experience (desirable)
- Prior work experience within a financial institution (desirable)
- Competency within a range of IT and communications systems (desirable)
- Knowledge of lending and insurance products and processes (desirable)
