An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated, energetic and passionate individual to join the team at Mackay Northern Beaches State High School from 08 July 2024 to 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

As a member of our Executive Leadership Team, you will lead and work strategically and operationally with year level teams and respective students.

Your collaborative work will focus on improving the educational outcomes of students reflective of Equity and Excellence, support the continued development of quality teaching and learning and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.

About Mackay Northern Beaches State High School

Mackay Northern Beaches State High School is the newest secondary school in Mackay, opening in 2013 and is located 10km from the centre of Mackay in the growing Northern Beaches area of Mackay.
The school is seeking a dedicated Deputy Principal to join the progressive Leadership team for Semester 2, 2024 unless otherwise determined. This position will be suited to an energetic and future-focused individual who has the ability to balance the competing agendas of this multifaceted role to positively influence positive student learning outcomes.

Their practice needs to have a strong student-focused approach and ability to build strong professional relationships with students, teachers, parents and the community. The successful applicant for this position will possess strong relational capabilities to ensure successful whole-school strategic leadership within the Executive Team.

As the Deputy Principal your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the Deputy Principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
