The Role
MinRes Energy is looking for experienced Derrickhands for the MinRes 100% owned LOC400 drilling rig.
Ideally commencing as soon as possible this is a brand-new role joining our Energy team on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off roster. The Derrickhands operate & maintain rig machinery, equipment, fluids circulating system while ensuring all aspects of safety requirements are in compliance.
- Prepare and test all mud circulating equipment.
- Supervise repairs and installation of replacement parts to mud pumps and associated equipment.
- Monitors mud pumps, mud volume, mud properties and pit levels as directed and advise driller of losses or gains.
- Support the driller in operating and monitoring all mud circulating systems and equipment to deliver the well as per the established drilling program.
- Clean and inspect mud tanks as required.
- Assist crew on rig floor in make up of tubulars, tools and equipment.
- Assists in make up and running casing to predetermined depth.
- Assist in cementing operations and cementing subcontractor as directed.
What you will bring to the team
- 2 years experience as a Derrickhand working on super single hydraulic drilling rigs
- Experience in onshore rig operations
- Current First aid certificate
- Working at heights / Confined Space
- Preferable onshore drilling certificate
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of drilling operations and equipment
- Working knowledge of Australian safety standards and regulations
