About the Role
The purpose of this exciting position is to deliver experiences across two of the Shire’s major destinations, The Briars, and Police Point. The incumbent will facilitate an exceptional visitor experience at each site, increasing enjoyment of these sites through the delivery of educational programs and interpretive experiences and by supporting event and function producers to operate successfully onsite.
Reporting to the Coordinator – Destination Experience the core responsibilities include:
- Ensure an exceptional, exciting, and engaging visitor experience is delivered at each site by:
- Delivering face-to-face interpretive and educational experiences including tours, talks and school holiday programs.
- Assisting in delivering experience training to volunteers.
- Assisting in evaluating the existing experience and visitor journey and identifying opportunities to create a more engaging, must-see experience.
- Support the Experience volunteers.
- Assist in monitoring metrics to show the success of programs and other initiatives.
- Assist in taking bookings and providing general customer service.
- Assist in the development and delivery of whole-site Master Plans, including providing specialist visitor experience and interpretation input.
About You
- Experience in using best-practice interpretive tools to develop and deliver face-to- face experiences which engage people with nature / heritage.
- Demonstrated experience engaging community groups including First Nations People and groups, schools, and City Councils to deliver exceptional programs.
- Experience in understanding audiences and incorporating this knowledge into the delivery of visitor experiences.
- Confident in using the Microsoft office suite of programs.
