Roles Available Include:
The Development Assessment Planner is responsible for:
- Process Development Applications
- Undertake planning and regulatory functions in accordance with the EPA Act and Local Government Act
- Organise resources and activities to meet deadlines and service standards
- Address all customer queries and complaints received in Council’s corporate systems
- Assist the Development Support Officers in their responses to customer enquiries
- Assess and make decisions in line with delegation of function
The Senior Development Assessment Planner is responsible for:
- Assess and make decisions in line with delegation of function
- Assist the Development Support Officers in their responses to customer enquiries
- Undertake planning and regulatory unction in accordance with the EPA Act and Local Government Act
- Provide specialist information and advice to customers
- Ensure accurate records are maintained in Council's corporate systems for all queries and complaints
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Degree and Post Graduate Diploma OR 4 Year Degree in Planning or related discipline,
- Driver Licence
- Experience in assessing a range of Development Applications using relevant legislation;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team;
- Demonstrated skillset in identifying work priorities and applying time management techniques; and
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Recent town planning graduates or students are welcome to apply as well as experienced planners.

Salary range: Grade 12 - 17 - $78,131.67 - $110,577.45 per annum including superannuation for a 35 hour work week plus competitive market allowances. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
