The Role

There are a number of business and cyber security trends within Origin and in the energy industry that create the need for increased risk and information security disciplines and processes. This role will be responsible for the following;

-Provide technical leadership and support in designing and building small systems and tools to support the processes of the Cyber Security Operations team.
-Actively contribute to architecture, integration, and automation of off-the-shelf and in-house security controls to support a lean Cyber Security operations model.
-Where required, provide Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) support in accordance with Origin’s Cyber Security incident response framework.
 

Responsibilities & Duties

-Support the development and execution of Origin’s cyber security monitoring and response strategies.
-Design, develop, and test solutions for solving security operations, threat hunting and incident response challenges.
-Work independently and collaboratively to implement CI/CD build and deployment pipelines.
-Automate security information and event management practices.
-Automate digital forensics and incident response practices.
-Maintain and operate in-house and commercial security tools and platforms.
-Adopt and demonstrate Origin’s Security Mission and Principles as part of the engineering work
 

About you

-Degree or certifications in IT, Security, Engineering, Software Development, Architecture or Design experience
-5+ years of Cyber Security, IT operations or Software Development experience.
-Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment strategies.
-Strong understanding of Python, PowerShell, and Bash is advantageous.
-Experience building with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
-Microsoft 365 security experience desirable but not mandatory.
-Experience working in a Cyber Security role is strongly desired, but not required.
