Job description

A leading digital innovator, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevSecOps Consultant to join their team. As a DevSecOps Consultant , you will play a key role in ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of software development and deployment processes.
Key Tasks and Required Skills:

  • Implement automation and orchestration and regularly review/optimize CI/CD processes and tools to reduce manual tasks.
  • On-board and streamline CI/CD processes for parts of the system that are currently not Continuously Integrated
  • Review CI/CD practices, identifying opportunities to share knowledge, set/update standards or policies and leverage innovation both formally and informally between teams and work collaboratively to ensure improvements in both capabilities and practices are embedded in the organisation
  • Provide input and guidance into application and product architecture discussions, contributing to the development of reliable, secure, maintainable and cost-efficient whole of life solutions
  • Work closely with the software architects, cybersecurity engineers, software engineers, test analysts and support personnel to drive industry CI/CD best practices
  • Work closely with vendors to integrate disparate configuration management practices into cohesive CI/CD pipelines enabling automated releases in a dynamic software development, integration development, external agency system integration (including identity brokers/providers), COTS/SaaS solution configuration and complex mixed-user environment (internal staff, external agency staff, external organisations and citizens).
  • Apply infrastructure knowledge to lead practices/topics such as Load Balancing, Security Groups, API Gateways, DBMSs, DNS configuration, etc.
  • Work with technical stakeholders to plan and migrate existing on-premise products to cloud based equivalents
  • Monitor and manage capacity and undertake planning & configuration of production and non-production environments across both Azure
  • Provide advice to internal and external clients on cloud DevOps principles, practices and options
  • Create, maintain and contribute to relevant technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and project plans.
  • Provide technical Dev Sec Ops leadership and/or support in all project phases, from defining new solution architectures, proposing innovative solutions using Power Platform tools, contributing to Solution Designs/Blueprints through to provide technical support during the testing and deployment phases of the project.
  • Be a strong advocate for a DevSecOps culture across development and operations teams within an organisation with a federated IT structure .
  • Writing code and completing code reviews, scripting (python, power shell, bash, etc.)
  • Mentor technical project resources to gain and improve the necessary skills and knowledge to embed in the "business as usual" team.
  • Help create an innovative and creative team culture, capable of developing advanced technologies
