The Role

Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will supervise the overall day-to-day production, performance and coordination of the shift to obtain maximum productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability. This role is also responsible for upholding all aspects of compliance and standards, adhering to budget and good manufacturing practices.

This role offers a Day Shift roster from 7 am to 3 pm, healthy market rate salaries and free parking on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrive early for shift start to perform a handover meeting with off-going shift supervisor or delegate to discuss any production issues, such as machine malfunctions, safety concerns, food safety and quality issues.
  • Instruct all staff about shift duties, objectives and requirements.
  • Coordinate training needs and coach, motivate and supervise shift staff in all aspects of their job.
  • Pick dies from tool room racks as required for upcoming jobs. Check condition and perform or arrange for appropriate refurbishment as required.
  • Purge machines and remove dies as jobs as required on completion of production on your shift.
  • Report any tooling or equipment repairs or modifications to the Toolmaker for action.
  • Supervise material colour changes, and check colour match before approving full production.
  • Correct any running problems relating to machines or quality, ensuring that any oil or water spills are contained, cleaned up and disposed of appropriately.

About You

  • At least two years prior experience as a Supervisor/Die-Setter preferably in the PVC blow moulding industry.
  • Able to set and decommission dies in extrusion blow moulding machines.
  • Capable of tuning machines extruding HDPE, LDPE, PP, and PVC materials to the best efficiency and quality.
  • Able to remember safety and procedural instructions.
  • People management skills
  • A current forklift license
