Component Industries a highly regarded metal stamping company based in Thomastown Victoria is seeking to employ an experienced Fitter & Turner with die setting and tool maintenance experience.

Our facilities include an onsite Toolroom for die servicing / tool making, modern Toolroom machinery with large tool building capacities and pressing facility ranging from 15ton to 400ton with automated die change systems.
This position reports to the Toolroom Manager and involves setting and servicing small to large multistage press tools, tooling breakdowns and some machine maintenance in production. You will need to work alongside production and other trades people to achieve a common goal. The job entails planned service to production facilities (dies & ancillary equipment), press setting, as some toolroom machining work.
Working Hours:
- 7:00AM - 4:00PM. 9 day fortnight.
- Overtime available
The skills and experience required for this role:
- Die setting and servicing of multistage press tools (experience required)
- Tool making and surface grinding of hard tool steels
- Work to accurate fitting of parts to tools
- Basic manual machining skills i.e. Lathe, Mill
- Preventative maintenance, machine maintenance and breakdown both in production
- Basic MIG welding
- Basic computer skills
- Good safety awareness in the workplace
- Trustworthy and reliable
- Good interpersonal skills and must be a team player, ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines without supervision
Advantageous but not essential:
- Pneumatic hydraulic experience
- Current Fork Lift License
- EDM Machining
- Sheet Metal Fabrication
To be successful in this role you will have experience in a similar role in particular. Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering and references required.
