Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa.  Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio.

Newmont are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Diesel Fitters to join our Mobile  Maintenance team at our Newmont Tanami operations.
In this role, you will join a diverse team and have the opportunity to advance your career with a world leading and innovative gold mining company. With multiple roles on offer, rosters available are 8:6 (8 days on, 6 days off) and 2:2 (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off) with multiple points of hire available flying from Darwin, Alice Springs, Brisbane and Perth.
As a Diesel Fitter, you will be required to perform preventative and breakdown maintenance of mobile maintenance equipment ensuring we continue to safely meet and exceed our throughput targets.
Duties will include the servicing and maintenance of our mining fleet including but not limited to Sandvik drills, Cat loaders, integrated tool carriers, haul trucks etc. You will ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and effectively and will be responsible for maximising the use of scheduled maintenance and minimising the impact of unscheduled works.
To be considered, you will have post trade experience and hold a relevant trade qualification. Previous experience working in underground / mining environments and underground breakdown experience will be highly regarded.

Qualifications and Competencies
-A relevant Australian recognised trade qualification. 
-Demonstrated maintenance and fault-finding skills.
-Proactive approach, and ability to problem solve
-An understanding of AS3000, Mines Regulations and Acts as well as other relevant standards, acts and regulations
-Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
-C class manual drivers licence
Highly regarded:
-Previous experience working in underground / mining environments
-Underground breakdown experience
-Unit of competency in confined space and working at heights
