Diesel Mechanic
Territory Transit transports approximately 850 students to six schools, travelling approximately 850 kilometres each day. The network we operate extends to the Tindal RAAF Base, Katherine City Centre, Katherine Gorge, Pine Creek, Binjari – Binjari Community and Cossack.
We are seeking a fully qualified Diesel mechanic to manage the maintenance of our fleet of coaches and minibuses. This is a full-time position, and a generous salary will be offered to the successful applicant.
Based in Katherine NT, your role entails managing day-to-day workshop tasks. We require prior experience in:
- Servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles in accordance with Australian Standard
- Gearbox and transmission servicing and repairs
- Engine rebuilds and overhauls
- Diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of electrical systems
- Servicing and maintenance of A/C systems
The following skills and qualifications are required:
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- Problem-solving abilities with a knack for implementing solutions
- Capability to work independently and within a team
- Valid HR Drivers Licence and H Endorsement (or the ability to obtain one)
- To be successful you will need to pass a fitness for duty and a drug and alcohol test
- Minimum of 3 years' trade experience
Field service will be required to attend breakdowns and minor repairs. The applicant must be prepared to undertake other duties relevant to the position as requested, which may also include driving duties in peak periods. The role will be challenging with room to develop your skills within a growing company.
