We provide sustainable waste management solutions to a range of customers including councils, small businesses, large corporate entities and government agencies.About the role:Based in Cairns, Queensland at our Portsmith depot, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to perform routine and un-planned servicing to our varied fleet of assets. Reporting to our on-site Equipment Manager as a part of a 30+ vehicle fleet, day to day you will be responsible for tasks including diagnostics, servicing, troubleshooting and repair work.About you:To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

• Certificate Three in Engineering (Heavy Diesel Mechanic) or equivalent
• Valid HR/MR/MC license
• Experience with a range of heavy vehicles
• Zero Harm Safety mindset
• Willingness to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
• Willingness to undertake a National Police check (if required)

Waste industry experience is not essential, however possessing a good attitude, being reliable and having a willingness to learn is. Ideally our suitable candidate will have some experience in electrics and/or hydraulics to support our business to thrive.Why Cleanaway:
