About the role:
The Digital Education Designer supports the Curriculum Team in the design and development of digital career education content used within courses and broader career development initiatives. They will Coordinate digital innovations to the career education curriculum. They will also build and maintain partnerships and relationships and provide expert advice and support to key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of digital career development resources, including DeakinTALENT teams; other teams in the Academic Portfolio; Faculty teaching teams; teams in the University Services Portfolio and Industry partners.
As a Digital Education Designer, you will:
  • Coordinate, develop, implement and evaluate learning design and digital learning technologies consistent with University strategy.
  • Coordinate and provide learning design expertise and support in the creation and usage of engaging online learning environments and resources.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the refurbishment of learning environments and enhancement of learning offerings to meet specified learning outcomes and strengthening the use of effective and authentic learning and assessment methods in all courses across digital learning environments.
  • Contribute to the delivery of effective communications and change management around Digital Education technologies, with a direct focus on academic staff capability building to ensure they are confident and capable using contemporary digital learning tools.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a range of digital learning tools in courses, including collaboration tools, peer assessment, active learning tools, personalised learning tools, digital portfolios, and micro-credentialing initiatives.
To be successful, you'll have:
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of current learning design standards, qualification frameworks.
  • Experience designing and developing appropriate methods and materials for teaching, learning, and assessing.
  • Experience in the use and value of appropriate digital learning technologies.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve technical problems and issues in short timeframes and under pressure.
