As a Security Technical Specialist, you will become proficient at resolving customer challenges in their cyber security estate with Microsoft 365 and Azure Security solutions being part of a sales team.

What skills do you need to have?

There will be many opportunities for you to learn and grow into this role and Microsoft.

Required qualifications.

  • Relevant certifications from Microsoft or competitive platforms AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Strong background in security components of Microsoft 365 and Azure Security.

Additional or Preferred Qualification

  • 7+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting, or related experience.
  • Work cohesively with members of the Microsoft sales & services team, Microsoft partners, engineering, and marketing to solve customer and partner issues, leverage best practices, & deliver results.
  • Growth Mindset. Ability to overcome and work around problems that are inevitable in rapidly growing businesses - positive approach to problem solving, learning, and development.
  • Purposeful Planner & Executor - Delivers business impact with intentional planning, driving clarity to the team with consistent coaching rhythms, removing blockers and ensuring quarterly business budget goals are met.
  • Disciplined Operator - Maintains excellence in pipeline management, forecasting and driving integrated territory and budget achievement planning.
  • Certification in relevant (Microsoft or industry) technologies or disciplines (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of identity, authentication, security, privacy, and compliance, including cloud and hybrid solutions required.
  • Technical depth. Practical enterprise customer experience with configuration and implementation of Microsoft or other security & compliance solutions as well as competitive product knowledge (ex. CrowdStrike, Okta, Splunk, Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Google/Mandiant, Chronicle, Zscaler, Mimecast, VMware, Symantec and Others).
  • Certification in Microsoft Security Ops Analyst Associate (SC-200) and/or Cybersecurity Architect expert (SC-100).
  • Certification among the following preferred: CEH, LPT, OSCP, GPEN, CISSP, CCSP, GSEC, CCIA, GSED, ECSA or GISP

The purpose of this role

As a Security Technical Specialist, you will work within a virtual team of sales, technical, partner and consulting resources to enhance the team capabilities for extended detection and response (XDR), zero trust and cloud security as well as Microsoft Purview portfolio empowering our customers to protect, govern, and safeguard their sensitive data while also managing regulatory compliance requirements and maintaining customer & employee privacy. Being part of this team will allow you to strengthen both your consultative selling skills as well as your deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based security & compliance solutions, architectures, programs, and technologies. You will make an impact by helping clients secure their organizations. This opportunity will allow you to accelerate your career growth, honing your solution sales and collaboration skills, and deepening your cloud expertise. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Scale Customer Engagements - Subject matter expert leading technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, architecture design sessions, production ready pilots for the Microsoft solutions, with a focus on customer acquisition efforts at the top of the funnel and potentially new to our cloud technologies.
  • Scale Through Partners - Orchestrating complex solutions with internal and external partners for multiple Microsoft online services and solutions.
  • Build Strategy - Influences competitive strategy leveraging partner and internal teams; Acts as the voice of the customer by driving new feedback, blockers, insights, resource items across communities to support customer's business outcomes and opportunities to promote usage.
  • Solution design & Proof - Helping identify and diagnose technical, architectural, and competitive blockers and respective solutions for sales opportunities and usage decision blockers and helping ensure that these solutions are implemented, prove capabilities and integration into customer environment in alignment with Microsoft standards.
  • Technical Leadership - Prepare technical insights and key scenarios required to drive the right technical and business solution outcomes.
