Diploma Qualified Educators - Queanbeyan - NEW Full Time Positions

Our recent collaboration of leadership positions has resulted in our plan to introduce and implement shared responsibility of the Group Leader positions across each of the rooms within our service at Queanbeyan Childcare Centre - one each for our Joeys (0-1), Possums (1-2), Koalas (2-3), Penguins (3-4) and Emus (4-5). As an integral part of our ongoing Staff Wellbeing initiative, we want to promote the work/life balance of our staff and prevent burn out by complementing our teams with additional Diploma qualified Group Leaders on-the-floor. By default, this increases the opportunity for staff to attend to and achieve the equally important off-the-floor responsibilities whilst simultaneously providing redundancy as well as maintaining leadership and consistency in the rooms. The Position: 

Diploma Educator - Shared Group Leader positions - We have achieved this for our Possums, Penguins and Emus and are keen to provide the same level of care for our Joeys (babies) and our Koalas (2-3). We are looking for reliable and committed educators to complement our work force, essentially creating a job share approach in allocated rooms, promoting stability and certainty for educators and children alike. Both Group Leaders in the room will be remunerated competitively and above the award wage for Group Leader responsibilities, pending the successful candidates' qualifications. These positions are Full time - 37.5 hrs per week Mon-Fri, working to a rotating roster.

The Job: 

The successful Diploma Qualified Group Leader candidates will be working alongside a team of experienced educators, where you will be responsible for fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. You are expected to be an active leader of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children. 

These shared Group Leader positions are supported by the standard leadership roles, as well as benefitting from the guidance and support of our Falcam Education and Care Mentor. The Education and Care Mentor is a dedicated team member who collaborates with educators to enhance overall staff satisfaction, working conditions, and childcare quality.

Your duties will include but not be limited to – 

• Leading, guiding and supporting a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care;
• Planning, implementing and evaluating programs for children that align with our values and policies.
• Developing strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues, children, parents and families.
• Implementing and always upholding the policies and associated procedures and practices of the organisation.
• Working in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law and applicable regulations and the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care.

The Criteria: 

• Hold a current Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) approved diploma level (or higher) early childhood education and care qualification.
• Hold a current First Aid Certificate - Child Care approved (HLTAID012 or HLTAID004) including current CPR certificate.
• Cleared New South Wales Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
• Demonstrated understanding of the National Quality Standard and the Early Years Learning Framework
• Provide two recent work-based references. 
• Australian Citizenship or Visa Eligibility, if required.
• This position is identified as a Child Safe work-related position. All successful applicants will be subject to verified WWCC and must demonstrate a commitment to uphold our Child Safe Standards.

• Above award salary $61,000 -$75,000 plus superannuation ($31-$38 per hour) – negotiated commensurate with skills, qualification and experience
